Hello everybody, I have a kind of time sensitive issue the Club and ARES need to address.
This morning I received an email from Pastor Michael Feltis offering us a meeting place at his Church. Here is the email.
“Richard, My name is Michael Feltis, I am the pastor of Calvary Fellowship Church, located in central Kaufman County, in the College Mound area off of FM 429. We are a small church, but we are re-growing after Covid-19 and things are looking better. One of the outreaches we have going is we have started is a Neighborhood Watch group in cooperation with the Kaufman County Sheriff’s department. Our church has one Deacon, his name is Tony Lagreca and he a licensed ham radio operator and I was talking to him about how nice it would be if our church could host a local ham radio club. I read on Facebook that your club was looking for a place to meet, did you ever find a suitable place? Reach out to me and let me know. Thanks Michael Feltis, pastor Calvary Fellowship Church11405 CR 123 Kaufman, TX 75142http://www.chapel429.com”
I informed him in the return email I would need to run it past the club members and I would get back with him tomorrow. My opinion is that this would be a great opportunity for us and we would finally be able to move forward being able to meet in person and chart a path forward for the club. I will be trying to get some time for the ARES group as well but for the moment the club has priority for now.
I need to know your feelings on this and if we move forward when would be best for all the group to set a schedule for future meetings Please get back with me as soon as you can.
