Concerning Training

hello folks, just a few things really quick.

First if you have current Skywarn training I need a copy of your certificate from the Skywarn school that you attended in the last 2 years. I have sent an email to the EC in Henderson County and the City of Mesquite with a list of trained spotters from our ARES group. That was three out of ten on our active roster. If you have not sent me your certificate please do so as soon as possible so I can update that list.

Second, we need to do training. Since we do not have a repeater in the county to use yet and simplex is not really feasible at this time we need to look to alternatives. I would like to hear from you concerning this issue. If everybody had access to DMR we have a talkgroup on TGIF but most of you do not. We also do not have a venue for an in person meeting at this time. We are about three months behind the projected timeline for getting the group up and running and at this point we are dead in the water for the spring storm season. We really should be ready for fall storm season but if more of our team don’t step up we may not be ready then. If you have any input on this issue please feel free to contact me or one of the AEC’s
