The great Forney tornado of 2012

On April 3 2012 there was a pretty large Tornado outbreak here in the North Texas area. Because I had 8 to 10 operators on my roster I felt we may have had it covered. I was mistaken. It appeared that my ARES unit wasn't interested. So your intrepid hero saddled up to wrangle the twisting wind. While my faithful net control operated relay and took my reports. An exciting time was had by all. Then I went into work and put dry ice on the meat counter.

Richard has also served as RACES assistant radio officer for the city of Mesquite, Tx. and among numerous other duties Including club president for the HAM Association of Mesquite Texas.
