Gun Media

Ok, I’ve been putting some thought to this.

We live in a world where guns and gun violence is glorified in all manner of media and young children are never exposed to responsible gun owners unless their family members own and use firearms in a responsible fashion.

So I propose that we lobby Congress to institute a ban on all media that glorifies gun violence such as movies, television, music, video games, printed matter. I do understand that the film industry and some musical genres will suffer greatly but I feel this is a good idea.

I grew up in the Vietnam era and my father was a police officer. As a child I couldn’t walk through the house I grew up in without being able to reach out and put my hand on a firearm. I never did this of course because my father would have set my backside on fire. We could also use more “Whoopin’s” too but that is a subject for another post.

As a child I played with toy guns. As an adult I have had to defend myself and others three different times with a firearm but I have never gone into a grocery store or public school and shot up the place.

The second amendment is there to protect us from those that might enslave us not to irritate people that are afraid because they have never been exposed to responsible gun owners.

So no more grand theft auto. No more action films. No more gangster hip hop and before you start with the censorship argument think about where you’re reading this.

Thanks for your time.

Rumination on Guns

Let us start with the truth. Guns don’t kill people, People kill people. Guns don’t get smoked up and go on a shooting rampage at a school. Guns don’t make a fake call to 911 so when the police show up they can kill a few. Idiotic and misinformed people use guns to do these things just like they use cars, knives, and all manner of other objects.

At the time of this writing there have been 11 police officers shot in the last week nationwide. Here in the Dallas, Texas area a fifteen year old was jailed just the other day for carrying a gun into a high school. There is a problem but not with the tool.

Bear with me a minute.

I was born in 1963. I was being held by my mother while she was standing on the parade route the day John Kennedy was killed. The reason we were there is my father was one of the sheriff’s deputies that was securing the route even though we were about a mile away from Dealey Plaza.

The important part here is my father was a sheriff’s deputy. Later he worked as a Dallas Police officer for 27 years. Dallas Security Force for 5 years and ended his time in law enforcement with the Dallas City Marshal’s Office. I was raised around firearms.

I don’t own a firearm currently but I have owned many over the years. I spent my childhood years with easy access to handguns, shotguns and long guns. I even had access to a few fully automatic weapons. The Police departments didn’t use them in those days but Dad had a few.

The point here is that I was exposed to firearms. I was taught to respect them. I was taught by my father, The city of Wilmer Texas, and the firearm instructor at a company I worked for among others how to safely handle and use firearms. I had my own 12 gauge shotgun when I was 15 years old and so did many of my friends. Only two had a mishap involving a firearm. One was a suicide and the other was an accidental discharge. I also had one friend stabbed to death at a North Mesquite High school graduation. That’s why I am more pro ban knives than ban guns.

I will say I am adamantly against any law that bans firearms period. Not only do we need them to protect us from those that may seek to use them against us. We also need them to allow us to protect our Country if needed and God forbid against our government if needed. I hope I never see that happen.

I will say in my opinion that most of the current laws may need a little tweaking. Take the case of John Hinckley, Jr. I used to buy my uniforms from Rocky’s Police Supplies in Dallas. Rocky and I were talking one day and he told me he was the guy that sold Hinckley the bullets that were used against Ronald Reagan. He told me all about how Hinckley purchased a handgun in California, boarded a plane and flew to Dallas. In Dallas he purchased the bullets at Rocky’s which was right off one of the highways here. Boarded another plane and flew to Washington, D.C., where he waited outside the Hilton for Reagan. He should not have been able to do that.

I hope this has given you some food for thought. I am sure there will be somebody out there that wants all guns banned because they don’t want to be shot. Don’t do stupid shit and you won’t get shot.

Until then, take an active role in your children’s lives. Teach them to respect  firearms the same way they respect the dangers of cars, knives and working around industrial equipment. You might talk to them about the dangers of drugs and alcohol while you’re at it.

Consider this from CNBC before you go:

That said, the gun industry’s traditional definition of an “assault rifle” is a weapon the military generally uses and has “select fire capabilities,” or the capability to switch between semi-automatic or a fully automatic mode. However, the civilian AR-15s do not have the select fire capabilities, only semi-automatic settings, so the firearms industry insists they are not an actual assault rifle or assault weapon.

Global warming 2022

“A Hurricane is proof of global warming” horse shit.

Everything that happens weather related these days is proof of global warming.

Since we’re talking about hurricanes, what about Andrew, Katrina, Rita and all the hurricane’s that have happened since this global warming crap started?

For those of you that haven’t spent 30 seconds learning how weather works here is a little bit about hurricanes.

Hurricane Season starts the 1st of June and ends the 30th of November. It is not uncommon to have more than 26 named storms in a season. That is why some storms are named with a Greek letter. That’s just in the Atlantic and we still have more oceans. Didn’t they teach you that while studying for that liberal arts degree?

The vast majority of Americans in their 20’s and 30’s really don’t remember the weather we had prior to 2000. It was pretty much the same as it is now, just chunkier.

A good example is this past summer here in Texas. We had 60+ days with temperatures over 100 degrees. In the 1970’s and 1980’s it wasn’t unusual to have that many every summer. Was global warming worse then than now?

Al Gore warned us over a decade ago that by now Mt. Kilimanjaro would be ice free by now. The glaciers are alive and well. How’s it going with those carbon credits Al?

Look, I get it. Save the planet. I’m sure the dinosaurs had cars that had really sucky gas mileage. And look what happened to them.

So here is what we need to do. First we need to spread a few square miles of black solar panels out on light colored desserts so instead of having the dessert reflecting most of the sunlight back into space the black  panels can heat up to over a hundred degrees and release the heat into the atmosphere when the sun goes down.

Next we also need to erect a bunch of poles with propellers on top so we can disrupt the natural wind patterns. You know, the wind that circulates the air to help keep the hot places cooler and the cold places warmer.

I think it is a shame that neither produces enough electricity so the people in California can charge their cars. I don’t have that problem with my old van with the 3.8L gas engine.

But let’s go even further. We can shut down U.S. oil extraction and buy oil from countries that can use it against us if they don’t like what we are doing on the world stage. Looking like we might have a plan forming here.

You need to WOKE your dumb ass up.

Everytime a dog farts they emit a greenhouse gas. The world has cycled between steamy swamp to ice ball more than once. The only thing that remains constant is the idiocy that we need to suffer over fairy tales like climate change (Global Warming). It changes and will continue to change. Global Warming is inexorable and inevitable and global cooling will follow as it always has for billions of years.

I hope your brain didn’t explode.

Opinion on Abortion 2022

With the over turning of Roe v. Wade the future of abortion rights are uncertain and the mass hysteria has begun. The Democratic party has done their best to fan the flames of unrest. That seems to be the way they roll concerning anything that might get them some political traction. That seems to be the only thing they are good at anymore.

Personally I really don’t see a difference between cutting up a child in the womb and sucking it out of its mother with the equivalent of a vacuum cleaner and cutting up a two year old with a chainsaw. I really don’t recommend either course of action. I just really don’t see a difference.

Now this is my own opinion and your mileage may vary. You’re welcome to have your own opinion as I am entitled to mine.

There are reasons I feel the way I do about the abortion issue and I will expound on my personal opinion so maybe you will understand why I feel the way I do.

Example 1: In the early 2000’s I received a phone call from my 1st wife and mother of my oldest children. She informed me that my 16 year old had become impregnated by some young man and when he was informed that daddy-hood was in his future he disappeared faster than a wisp of smoke in a high breeze leaving her holding the “Baby Bag” you might say.

My ex-wife called one evening to inform me of this development in hopes that I would run down to their home and convince my daughter to have an abortion post hast. Back then I really didn’t have a firm stand on the abortion issue. I really hadn’t thought much about it. I had always made it clear to my kids that there were consequences for every thing they did good or bad and one decision could change they’re life forever.

So the next morning I headed out for Casa De Meth also known as Bubba’s Gate down in the Trinity River Bottoms outside of Seagoville Texas.

My Daughter was sitting out on the front porch when I arrived and as I exited the car I could see she was terrified. I had never laid a hand on her in anger but her Mothers bunch were kind of rough.I was welcomed by her mother and grandmother then they left us alone to discuss the situation.

I told my daughter she was now an adult and part of being an adult is making very difficult decisions. She needed to decide if she was capable of taking care of a small child. If she couldn’t abortion or adoption was her other choices. I also told her that her Mother, Grandmother and I couldn’t make the decision for her. She had to make a choice (That seemed almost pro-choice. Didn’t it?).

We talked for a while longer and at the end I told her that my Personal opinion was to have the baby and if she couldn’t take care of it she could go with adoption and find the baby a good home. I made it clear that that was my opinion but it was not my choice to make. I kissed her on the head and headed home.

We soon had a beautiful baby girl come into our life named Kaylee and she is still the apple of my eye and is a grown woman living her own life. That  doesn’t speak to me because of the abortion issue.

Example 2: For about a year after my 1st wife and I broke up I really didn’t have any interest in getting into another relationship. I was in my 20’s and working security in various topless clubs around the Dallas Metro area. For most of that year I didn’t have more than a friendly relationship with any of the ladies working in those establishments.

Then I met Suzy. Suzy was a security groupie and I met her through a co-worker. She decided she wanted to get her hands on the guy that none of the female dancers, waitresses or bartenders pin down. She succeeded. We had an off and on relationship for several years.

After our last break up I went on my way and developed other relationships but Suzy was always in the background because of that co-worker friend of mine.

After our last breakup I found out that Suzy was the “Pass Around Girl”. She had made the rounds of all the guys in the company at least once. A few months after my last break up with Suzy Carl (my co-worker) started to try to shame me about something concerning Suzy. I couldn’t figure out what it might be due to him being so cryptic.

He finally came out and told me that about two months after our last breakup she had found out she was pregnant and that she had told him that it was mine. She had gone and had an abortion and had spent some time adt his home recuperating.

I was flabbergasted. She had never tried to contact me about this. It was her decision to go have an abortion without letting me be involved in the decision. I would have taken the child and raised it the best I could but I wasn’t even consulted.

I haven’t spoken to her since

So I have some emotional baggage concerning abortions. This has brought me into conflict with a member of my family that doesnt speak to me because of the abortion issue. I find this very sad and a bit ironic because she is the unborn child in example one.

Listen closely and I will lay it out my opinion for you

  1. In the case of Rape, Incest or Medical need Abortion should be available (Otherwise see items 2 thru 6
  2. If it has a heartbeat its a baby
  3. If it doesn’t have a heartbeat it’s a tumor
  4. If it takes you more than 3 ½ Months ( 15 weeks ) to decide wiether to have an abortion your an idiot and need to be sterilized
  5.   Your Body, Your Choice works just as well before you get pregnant as it does after.
  6. If you are Gay or Lesbian why are you in the dicussion

So I hope this clears the air a little bit. I look forward to your comments on this issue.

Dis-arming the public again.

Biden

Ok, I’ve been putting some thought to this.

He’s not the first head of state to have a picture of this pose

We live in a world where guns and gun violence is glorified in all manner of media and young children are never exposed to responsible gun owners unless their family members own and use firearms in a responsible fashion.

The second amendment is there to protect us from those that might enslave us not to irritate people that are afraid because they have never been exposed to responsible gun owners.

So no more grand theft auto. No more action films. No more gangster hip hop and before you start with the censorship argument. Biden says “Biden says “the Second Amendment is not absolute”. If that is the case neither is the First Amendment. You need to take that crap over to Facebook where it belongs.

Thanks for your time.
